Body, design and equipment

The Minimotors company has created the Dualtron X2 UP scooter in an effort to push the boundaries of what the electric mobility development is capable of achieving. An improved version of the legendary Dualtron X. The extreme speed and performance of the Dualtron X2 UP require innovations in cooling and durability of the massive 8 300 W motor and 72 V battery providing 45 Ah capacity. For this reason, the Dualtron X2 has a redesigned cooling system. The metal component at the bottom of the platform protects both the battery and the control unit, while the built-in cooler improves the airflow to the battery. The entire scooter has a modern, rather futuristic, design and perfect build quality. The Dualtron X2 UP comes with a brand new and reworked frame designed to provide maximum durability and simple maintenance. To ensure maximum durability and safety, it is made of 6082-T6 – a specially wrought aluminum that is similar to the one used in the aerospace industry. The wheel shafts are made of SCM440, a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel with carbon admixture. Quality materials and precise workmanship give this scooter the rigidity necessary to ensure rider’s safety. Taking care of your comfort are the front and rear adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers, huge 13-inch inflatable tires and comfortable ergonomic grips. Have a look at the redesigned and backlit combined switch on the handlebars and you will see why the Dualtron X2 UP represents the pinnacle of the electric scooter quality. Like all Dualtron scooters, the X2 is factory-equipped with a large and easy-to-read EYE display manufactured in-house by Minimotors. The display shows all important data, such as speed, current gear, daily kilometers travelled (TRIP), total kilometers travelled (ODO) and the current battery level. Thanks to its high brightness level, the display stays legible even in adverse weather conditions. The scooter’s power is controlled by a popular finger lever that can also be used to operate cruise control. You can connect the display to a fingerprint reader so that only you can unlock your scooter.

The Dualtron X2 UP model has been designed to provide customers with top quality and technology without compromises. It features a new, redesigned frame characterized by higher rigidity and durability to ensure safer riding even at maximum speeds. The Dualtron X2 UP is supplied with massive adjustable front and rear hydraulic suspension, which in combination with large, 13-inch ultra-wide tires, provides this model with extreme stability. Unpleasant shocks when crossing bumps, potholes or curbs are a thing of the past. The front and rear suspension is adjustable in 19 steps and allows you the freedom to adapt to the environment, in which you ride. The Dualtron X2 UP is supplied with dual, fully hydraulic brakes providing you with incredible and smoothly delivered braking power and reliability. Along with electronic brake, you can be sure that you will always brake to a stop safely at any speed. You will certainly appreciate the recuperative charging option, which returns a portion of the energy back to your battery. Another important safety element is the electronic ABS that prevents locking of wheels when braking heavily. It goes without saying that safety requires proper lighting. The triple front LEDs on each side, strong front light located on the steering column, rear lights, brake lights and turn signals provide you with better visibility and safety you need in fast road traffic, particularly during reduced visibility. Still not enough for you? Add the impressive color backlight of the Dualtron logo on the sides of the step-on platform and the steering column. Not sold yet? Well, you can also look forward to the amazing backlight on the lower part of the step-on surface creating interesting effects on the road while riding. The functional fenders are a matter of fact. Should an unexpected rain shower catch you by surprise, they will protect you and your clothes from getting dirty by splashing water. The easy-to-maintain step-on anti-skid surface preventing the rider from slipping in bad weather or extreme situation comes as a bonus.
 
 
Power and range
Every extreme riding enthusiast will appreciate the scooter’s fabulous power! You can rest assured that the two BLDHC motors providing total output of 8300 W will make you love each and every trip. Add to that a huge LG 72 V and 45 Ah battery providing a long range of up to 150 km and you can enjoy unlimited rides in any terrain. This kind of range will give you the freedom to ride without having to worry about where to recharge your battery. The two charging ports supporting supercharging are located in the top board of the step-on platform and are equipped with protective caps preventing dirt from entering inside. The battery does not suffer from any undesirable memory effect, which is why it will last many years, subject to proper charging and maintenance! Combined with a dual control unit made in-house by Minimotors, the scooter allows a rider to ride at speeds of up to 110 km/h (depending on the rider’s weight, outside temperature and terrain).
 
 

Use and practicality
Given its rigid structure and unbelievable performance, this is an extreme scooter that is primarily aimed at demanding riders who want it all. Thanks to its 2×2 drive, the Dualtron X2 UP will handle terrain and even a very steep climb. You do not have to worry about your scooter giving up on you on a long trip. With 13-inch, ultra-wide tires, the X2 UP gives you above-standard comfort, traction and safety. You will love the very comfortable chassis that comes with above-average shock absorbing capacity. Despite the scooter’s versatility, the heavy weight of about 66 kg can be a limiting factor for some. So, if you are not a frequent visitor to a gym, you will have to call a friend to help you lifting and carrying this scooter. Likewise, the scooter’s performance and robust design resulted in poorer compactness, meaning you will have difficulty taking it with you inside a restaurant and will have to lock it outside like a bicycle. However, it is necessary to be aware that this machine is a tough toy for tough riders who do not think in terms of compactness or weight but aim for a big dose of adrenaline and a joy of extreme riding.

About the brand

The Minimotors is known globally as one of the best and most reliable manufacturers of electric scooters. It was established in 1999 in Pusan (Busan) in South Korea. Shortly after its establishment, the company became famous for its mass-produced electric motors. In 2010, it initiated the development and manufacturing of electric scooters as an excellent personal mobility alternative to single-track petrol-engine vehicles. In the same year, it unveiled its Speedway electric scooter series on the market. Due to high demand and the resulting need to boost manufacturing, Minimotors moved its production to a new factory in China and in 2015 completed the design and began producing a new electric scooter type named Dualtron Ultra. Seeing its huge success, the company continued in developing and manufacturing other models and model series.
